I am really remiss in sending this email.
The kid fishing camp on the North Fork of the Big Thompson was an outstanding event. Great teaching skills by some really patient teachers. My two grandson had a wonderful day. There were also a couple of special needs kids there who were treated with great respect and patience...NICE JOB!
---- thanks for the heads up on this wonderful opportunity..
My family and I attended one of these Family Fish Camps about a year ago, and we would like to thank all of the volunteers and staff for the great experience we had at the fish camp held in Adolph Thomae Jr County Park.
Thanks - Sergio Juarez
Since your Family Fish Camp in the Flour Bluff area my grandson's interest has blossomed to new levels and interest in fishing.
James is now an avid fisherman and we go every weekend. His record catch to date is a 32" red drum. HE said to me, "Grandma I haven't played my X-box in a long time". I said, "That's Great!"
I can't thank you and Fishing's Future enough for having these camps for kids.
Happy New Year to Fishing's Future!
Some of my best memories are fishing with family and friends. We were a family of five, with a small fishing boat and seven poles. We were known as the spider boat. We would catch bass and more bass, walleye, and the occasional northern pike.
I especially remember one time going on the evening fish, just dad and I. Being on the rippling water, surrounded by the trees, a slight breeze, and the sun trying to peak out from behind the clouds. Dad was a quiet man, conversation was not really needed. We were tight line fishing, drifting. Just casting, getting caught on something, pulling on my line, trying again and rootbeer barrel candy. I knew how to put on my own hook, sinker, and bait, but dad would always do it for me, I was his daughter. We didn't catch anything that evening, except a quiet moment in time, a memory that will last forever.
Dad is no longer with us but these memories will live with me forever. In a society where everyone is focused on personal gain it is nice Fishing's Future is tuned into what really matters. You provide opportunities where fathers and daughters can share quiet moments.
Love and prayers to Fishing's Future
Thank you and fishing's Future for helping me learn that fishing is fun. My grandma has been taking me fishing and this is my big red drum I caught yesterday. It was 36 inches and weighed 21.5 lbs. I hope more kids will start to like fishing also.

Thank you soooo much for your organization and hosting the Family Fish Camp at Rancho El Charco today.
Today was my nephews first time fishing and they had a blast. They were excited about their goody bag filled with hooks and different lures and enjoyed learning about everything from casting to tying a cinch knot. They came over to my house after and I made them take showers because they had been... outside all day, touching worms and getting dirty and Angel said to me (he HATES bathtime and getting him in the shower is like pulling teeth), "I like fishing, even if it means taking a bath after...it's worth it." After their showers, my other nephew Ivar sat down and inspected all the fishing goodies in his bag and looked through his book at the different fish to let me know which one he wanted to catch next time we went fishing.
Nate and I had a GREAT time this last Saturday !!! We must have learned something too!! Went out on Sunday morning and Nate caught a fish in only a few minutes. This is a GREAT organization! Thanks esp to Shane !!
It was an A-plus event! I wish my 12 year old son had not been sick but my 8 year old daughter and I really enjoyed it. All three of us went fishing the next day! Can't wait to catch our first fish! We will be back at any future events you have-thank you!

Your Kid's Fish Camp yesterday at KOA on South Padre Island is causing me to go out and buy a fishing license. I was so impressed when we came home and my daughter spent the next two hours showing her mother what she learned. She wants to go fishing now and I am anxious to take her. I was very impressed with the things I learned and how you work with kids. Your patience is impressive and your enthusiasm for fishing is contagious.
Thank you for what you are doing".
I want to thank you for opening up a whole new world for me and my son. I have lived in the area for 15 years and have never gone fishing or bought a fishing license. Last Saturday my son and I attended your fish camp at KOA and now we are planning on going fishing this coming weekend. He is very excited. I even went out and purchased a fishing license yesterday. I didn’t think Daniel ever thought about going fishing. I thought all he liked to do was skateboard and play on the computer. Guess I need to pay more attention to my son. This is a great lesson for me and I applaud what you are doing. I am very deeply moved in my awakening and want to thank you again for your remarkable program. Let me know when you are going to have another fish camp."
Your program today has caused me to reevaluate my priorities. Being a single parent and working full time is hard and sometimes I just cannot relate to my 11 year old. When my son caught his first fish today, I saw something in my his eyes that I have never seen before. He was so excited he even hugged me in public.
Thank you card received read, "We will always remember these memories, thanks to you."
