Join Fishing's Future for a fun Family Fishing angling experience at Adolph Thomae County Park in Cameron County. Fishing's Future is partnering with Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge and Adolph Thomae County Park to share some angling education. This will be a 5 hour educational angling experience where families come and learn about fishing, fishing equipment, Texas Parks and Wildlife fishing regulations, Fish ID, Environmental Stewardship and end the day fishing on the beautiful banks of the Arroyo Colorado River. Families must register as slots are limited, but equipment will be provided along with bait, a hotdog meal and water. If you have your own equipment you may bring and fish with it. We recommend that families bring sun screen, and chairs to sit for the awards ceremonies as each Jr. Angler will be presented with a TPWD and Fishing's Future Jr. Angler Certificate and pin.
Dress to be outdoors as this Family Fish Camp incorporates several hands on stations where specific fishing skills are taught. Past Family Fish Camps in this location fill up fast as the fishing can sometimes be outstanding. Everything from catfish, redfish, spotted sea trout and even flounder have been caught so come prepared to learn about fishing and have a GREAT time.
