Inks Dam National Fish Hatchery, and it’s Friends Group are offering a First Catch Center program sponsored by FishingsFuture.org on March 23rd, 2019 for families interested in learning to fish or relatively new to fishing. The program is held at the Hatchery, which is located in Burnet County, Texas. It includes training in the basic knowledge and skills needed to be a successful fisher and a chance to catch catfish in a dedicated Hatchery pond! The program begins at 8:30a.m. and finishes around 2:00p.m.
The program is limited to FAMILIES ONLY. It is entirely FREE – you only need to bring a picnic lunch for your family and a cooler. We provide all of the equipment you will need. This program is Catch and Keep. We will help prepare your catch and provide ice, so don’t forget the cooler! No Fishing License Required!
The program is limited to 45 individuals, so we need to know the names of the parents or grandparents and the name and age of each child. The child must be age 16 or under and old enough to reasonably handle a fishing pole. Registration is first come / first served, but we will maintain a waiting list in the event of cancellations. You must provide a valid email address and phone number at which you can be reached in order to reserve each place for this event. Further information will be provided to those who are successfully registered for the event.
You will also be advised if we must place you on a waitlist. If you have questions, contact us at
