Frank Frank Garciawas born and raised in West Texas. He enjoys being outdoors and spending time with his family.  Frank is married to his best friend Christy Martinez-Garcia and they have one daughter (Amaris) as well as two dogs, Brody (Poodle) and Atticus Finch (Golden Retreiver).  He learned to be patient and respectful from his mom and Dad.  In order to tell you more about Frank and Fishing, well here it is.

One day, Frank’s Dad became ill and was taken to the hospital, later to have surgery. On the night of his recovery, he made a request to Christy and Frank and he said, "Mijo (son), when I get out of here, I want to have a family fishing trip - my sons, daughters, their spouses, grandkids, even Christy," he said jokingly knowing she was a city girl. "We'll have mama make lunch, and we will have a good time."

Frank remembers this night like it was yesterday. Frank also remembers the next morning when his dad passed away.

Several years later Frank and Christy formed a group called Los Hermanos a collaborative group of men, organizations, and volunteers who value... GOD, family, and community.  In an effort to encourage children and families, especially men, to enjoy more family time and the sport of fishing, we are living out his wish by having fishing events "Vamos a Pescar (Let's Go Fishing)". Events are held in honor of Gonzalo Garcia Sr. who was a humble farmer, Frank’s dad, and anyone that knows farming knows the hours that you keep - long. Often, Frank’s father could not participate in family outings or events because he had to work.

Frank GarciaIt was hard for Frank to get over the absence of his dad.  And then he realized that there are many dads who although are committed to their families, frankly, they have to work. Thus, our Fishing’s Future’s events are dedicated to dads, and a time for them to spend with their children & families.  We have many amazing volunteers equally committed to this same mission so I personally invite you to join us and let's build some memories for our kids.

The mission is to encourage children and families to experience fishing in a relaxing environment with family and friends, and other excellent role models.

Vamos a Pescar is inspired in part by Matthew 4:19, a Bible verse citing Jesus as he spoke to two fishermen: “And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
