Fishing has always been a major part of my life. It started with the enjoyment of fishing with my mother and dad in the lakes around northern Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Kentucky. It didn’t matter which species; crappie, bream, walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass, carp or catfish, I caught, that unknown tug on the end of my line hooked me for life.
After graduating from Texas Tech University, I headed to Louisiana for my first job and the beginning of competitive bass fishing. I started Bass Clubs at Fort Polk, Louisiana and Lubbock, Texas. Then move into the Military Bass world by becoming the Texas State Director and participating in numerous national military tournaments where I earned a selection on Air Force Bass Teams. I was also selected for the Texas State Team and participated in numerous Top Six and professional tournaments. During this time, I was writing a weekly fishing column which continued for ten years. I have had the opportunity to fish all over the country including Hawaii. But my retirement to a home in Weatherford, Texas has provided me the desire to pass on my love of fishing.
My vast experience competitive fishing and the conducting of youth events is available to be passed on the future leaders of our county. I am just a phone call away.
