Free fishing for kids 6-16 with an adult family member. Loner rods will be provided for those who need one. Get ready for another Family Fish Camp held in partnership with Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge and Cameron County Parks at Adolph Thomae County Park. All are welcome to come play in the wild. Adolph Thomae County Park lies within the Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife refuge and is home to the endangered Ocelot and the Rio Grande Turley. Last year we saw coyotes, turkeys and a host of other wildlife and also caught many fish at this location and it will be big fun for all who attend this year. The Family Fish Camp will be at the second Pier in the park and Jr. Anglers should wear shoes and clothes that might get dirty or fish slime on them, "as I hear the fish are killer in November". At our last FFC we caught red fish, trout, croaker, sheephead, crabs and many piggy perch. To register for this FFC utilize all must register on-line. For questions call (956)748-3607.
Please bring folding chairs as seating is limited.
